Students and Check Cashing

Students may cash checks at the Business Office cashier window Mondays-Fridays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Students should be prepared to present their Lawrence ID card as identification.

Insufficient Funds

There is a $20 per check charge for checks returned for insufficient funds. Students with three or more NSF checks to the university will lose check cashing privileges on campus for the remainder of their Lawrence enrollment.

Memorial Union

Checks also may be cashed at the Memorial Union information desk. Please note the following Information Desk guidelines:

• Limit of $75 per check, one check per day unless special permission is granted by the office.
• Checks should be made out to "Cash" and endorsed on the back. Properly endorsed two-party checks, traveler's checks, and money orders will also be cashed.
• Identification must be presented upon cashing a check. Checks will be cashed for students, faculty, staff, and those associated with current students, faculty or staff, or checks drawn on Lawrence University funds.
