Outside Scholarship Opportunities
The Financial Aid Office routinely receives information about outside scholarships
available to students on the state, national, and international level. The
scholarships vary in terms of award value and eligibility requirements. We
have listed these here in an attempt to give Lawrence students easy access
to information on these scholarships. Fastweb,
a non-profit scholarship service, has a searchable database of thousands of
outside scholarships and we strongly encourage students to use this resource
as well. Another search site for outside scholarships is SchoolSoup and Brokescholar.

- HFMA-Healthcare Financial Management Association is offering $2,000 scholarships and seven student memberships in HFMA per year to eligible full-and part-time college students, with junior status or higher, pursuing degrees in accounting, business, economics, public policy, public health or a related degree. - Jaycees of Wisconsin Foundation-Denise Bertucci Memorial Scholarhsip--Scholarship for individuals who have returned to school after a break in their formal education--Must be 21 years old, having returned to school after at least 2 years off. More details and applications on bulletin board outside financial aid office. Deadline is June 1, 2008.
- John Gyles Education Awards--available to students in Canada and the US. Minimum GPA is 2.7, academic ability and financial need are considered in selection process. Selected students will receive up to $3,000. Details on bulletin board outside financial aid office. Deadline is June 1, 2008.
- Abbott and Fenner Scholarship available for $1,000. Essay details and other info available on bulletin board outside financial aid office. Deadline is June 20, 2008.
- BigSun Scholarship--for young athletes to succeed in their academic pursuits, regardless of which sport. Offering $500 with more details and info on bulletin board outside the financial aid office. Deadline is June 20, 2008.
- AES Engineers has a $500 scholarship available with submitting and essay with the scholarship being based on basis of character. More info and details on bulletin board outside financial aid office. Deadline is September 15, 2008.
