The Lawrence Fellows in the Liberal Arts program is designed for recent Ph.D.’s (or M.Mus./MFA’s) who seek to develop a record of excellence in teaching and research experience in a liberal arts college setting. Appointments are for 2 years and involve a reduced teaching load (three courses in the first year and four in the second year) to provide time for continued scholarship or artistic achievement. Lawrence encourages Fellows to engage in tutorials and research projects with undergraduate students, as well as teaching and research collaborations with faculty. The full-time fellowships will carry a stipend of $36,000 per year, plus benefits, and $2500 yearly fund to support research, travel, and other initiatives.
Applications are being accepted from qualified applicants in Spanish in the areas of Transatlantic and Cultural Studies. Applications are also being sought by the Government Department in the area of international relations broadly and in comparative politics, with a regional focus on Latin America or the Middle East preferred.
