Advanced Placement in English

Students who receive a 4 or 5 on the English LITERATURE and composition advanced placement exam receive 6 units of credit in English and test out of Eng 150: Introduction to Literary Analysis. These students may take Enlish courses at the 200-level during their freshman year without taking Eng 150.

Students who receive a 4 or 5 on the English LANGUAGE and composition advanced placement exam receive 6 units of credit in English. This exam does NOT allow students to test out of English courses at Lawrence.

Neither exam can substitute for the Writing Intensive General Education requirement. Students must fulfill this requirement through a course at Lawrence.
