What will the fund support?
Now that the Nathan Marsh Pusey Freshman Studies Endowment is established, it will strengthen Freshman Studies by:
- Expanding initiatives to prepare faculty to teach the course
- Bringing outside lecturers, artists, and performers to campus on a more frequent basis
- Increasing library holdings and technological resources
- Providing release time from teaching for the Freshman Studies director and expanding the position to a full-time, three-year term
- Enhancing a comprehensive program designed to assess Freshman Studies and evaluate student achievement
- Extending the influence of Freshman Studies to other colleges through faculty presentations at national conferences and by bringing faculty from other schools to campus to study and work with Freshman Studies
