Music-Drama
Center
The
Music-Drama Center (1959) houses teaching facilities for the
Conservatory of Music and the theatre and drama department and is the
site of concerts, recitals, dramatic productions, films, and lectures.
It contains teaching studios,
a computer lab, numerous
practice rooms, music and theatre classrooms,
a scene shop, dressing rooms, and
three performance spaces: the
250-seat William E. Harper Hall, the 500-seat Stansbury Theatre, and a
smaller black-box experimental
theatre, the F. Theodore Cloak Theatre. The studios of WLFM, Lawrence's
student-run FM radio station (affiliated with Wisconsin Public Radio)
are located in the Music-Drama Center. The 250-seat Harper
Hall is the site for most student and faculty recitals, as well as many
pre-concert talks and various lecture series. Opera and music theatre
productions are staged in Stansbury Theatre, a 500-seat proscenium
theatre.
