Compatible Network Cards

If you own a Windows desktop computer that does not have an Ethernet card, the Union Station has cards available for purchase. Ethernet cables can also be purchased from the Union Station in various lengths.

Important: Any card must be 10-Base-T or 10/100-Base-T compatible and have an RJ-45 ethernet jack. If you have questions about whether the card you have is acceptable, please contact the HelpDesk. Thank you.

The specific adapter that you may need varies according to the type of network expansion scheme(s) your computer can support. Be sure that you know whether an expansion slot is available. You do not need a modem on campus to access the campus network from your student room; in fact, under some circumstances you might have to disable or remove an internal modem in order to connect properly to our network.
