Lawrence University football team names captains for 2001

APPLETON, WIS. - The Lawrence University football team has named its captains for the 2001 season.

Seniors Scott Dummert, Scott Fischer, J.C. Radliff, and Ian Russell, and junior Ryan Zutter will all serve as captains next season.

Dummert, a linebacker from Brookfield, had 53 tackles this past season. The former Brookfield East High School star had four tackles for loss, two sacks, and an interception.

Fischer is a former star at Kimberly High School. The defensive tackle recorded 35 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss and four sacks. Fischer received the Mark Catlin Award, given to the most valuable player on defense, this past season.

Radliff, a fullback from Waukesha, rushed 85 times for 366 yards and a touchdown in 2000. The former Mukwonago High School standout had a 4.3-yard per carry average and provided punishing lead blocking for tailbacks Justin Berrens and Jacques Hacquebord.

Russell, a center from Toledo, Iowa, was a stalwart in the middle of Lawrence's offensive line. The former star at South Tama High School helped the Vikings average 130.4 yards rushing per game.

Zutter, a cornerback from Colfax, was the most consistent performer in the defensive backfield for the Vikings in 2000. Zutter had 54 tackles, two interceptions, and seven passes defensed. He was also a key performer on Lawrence return teams and received the Ted Ross Award, given to the most valuable player on special teams, this past season.
