Soccer standouts Ehlinger, Frett earn Academic All-District honors

APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University soccer standouts Sarah Ehlinger and T.J. Frett have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 team.

Ehlinger (Wauwatosa, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels), a junior forward, was named to the second team. Ehlinger, who was the only player chosen from a Midwest Conference school, is a geology major and has a 3.90 grade point average.

A two-time All-Midwest Conference selection, Ehlinger has 10 goals and six assists for 26 points this season. She has 28 goals for her career, which ranks her fifth on the Lawrence career list, and she is fifth with 69 career points.

Frett (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee), a senior defender, also was chosen for the second team. Frett, one of three MWC players selected, is a biology major and has a 3.73 grade point average.

Frett is a starter and has helped the Lawrence defense allow only 1.50 goals per game.

Frett is the first men's soccer player to be chosen for the academic all-district team since Joe Sluhoski was chosen in 2007. Ehlinger is the first women's soccer player to be selected since Annemarie Exarhos was picked in 2005.

The Academic All-District teams are voted upon by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. District 5 encompasses schools from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota.
