APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University women's soccer star Mallory Koula was named the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Koula (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) was chosen after scoring five goals and handing out two assists as the Vikings went 3-0 on the week, which included a road sweep of a pair of Midwest Conference games.
Koula played only 20 minutes but scored two goals and had an assist in Lawrence's 12-1 nonconference rout of Mount Mary College on Oct. 14.
Koula scored the game-winning goal in the 66th minute of Lawrence's 3-1 victory at Illinois College on Oct. 17. She delivered the assist on Jordan Holmes' game-winning goal in the 55th minute of Lawrence's 4-1 victory at Monmouth College on Oct. 18. Koula scored two insurance goals in a three-minute span against the Scots.
Koula now has 21 goals and six assists for 48 points this season.
The Vikings have won five straight, including four MWC games, to improve to 10-4-0 (4-3-0 MWC) and into third place in the conference standings.
Lawrence has now reached double digits in the win column for the first time since the team went 13-6-1 and won the MWC Tournament back in 2001. The Vikings return to action on Oct. 24 when they host St. Norbert College.
