Zlevor nets MWC Player of the Week tennis honor

APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's tennis standout Max Zlevor has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week.

Zlevor (Racine, Wis./Prairie) dropped only four games in two singles matches and helped Lawrence post a pair of shutout victories.

Playing No. 5 singles, Zlevor won his match 6-3, 6-1, in Lawrence’s 9-0 victory over Concordia (Wis.) University this past Saturday. The freshman also teamed with Caleb Ray (Austin, Texas/Johnson) for an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Zlevor didn’t lose a single game in singles or doubles in Lawrence’s 9-0 victory over Marian University the same day. Zlevor won 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 singles and teamed with Ray for an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Zlevor improved to 6-3 in singles and 7-2 in doubles this season.

This marks the second time this season a Lawrence player has been named the MWC Player of the Week. Senior Ryan Dunn (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) won the honor back on Feb. 26.

Lawrence, which has a 6-3 record, returns to action on Saturday when it travels to UW-Oshkosh.
