APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University cross country squads have been named Scholar Teams by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA all-academic team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at a NCAA regional meet and have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average.
The Lawrence women have an impressive team grade point average of 3.50, and that places the Vikings among the top 35 teams in the nation. The Lawrence men put together a 3.19 grade point average.
Lawrence was one of five schools in the Midwest Conference to have both of its teams honored by the USTFCCCA.
The Vikings were also honored by the conference in the fall. Six members of the women's squad were named to the academic all-conference team, and four members of the men's squad were also chosen.
