APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's basketball standout Ryan Kroeger has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
Kroger, a senior guard from Glendale, Wis., earned the honor after averaging 22.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists last week. Kroeger, who shot 60.5 percent from the floor, helped Lawrence post a 3-0 record on the week.
Kroeger, a former star at Nicolet High School, scored 16 points and handed out six assists in Lawrence’s 75-59 uspet win over No. 7 UW-Stevens Point on Dec. 2. Kroeger then scored 32 points, one shy of his career high, in an 81-70 win over Knox last Friday. He was a perfect 13 of 13 from the foul line in that game. Kroeger finished the week by scoring 19 in an 84-64 win over Illinois College last Saturday.
The 2008 Midwest Conference Player of the Year, Kroeger now has 1,220 points for his career. He is just 24 points from passing current head coach Joel DePagter for seventh place on the career scoring list.
Lawrence return to action next week when it travels to Cal Tech and Cal Lutheran.
