MARIETTA, Ohio -- Lawrence University standout Madeline Steininger placed ninth in the high jump on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.
Steininger (New Berlin, Wis./Milwaukee Pius XI) jumped 5 feet, 4.5 inches, in the meet at Marietta College and narrowly missed All-America honors..
Steininger's jump matched that of Erin Neville of Wheaton (Mass.) College and Emily Furr of Frostburg State. Neville and Furr tied for seventh place because they each had one fewer miss at 5-4.5.
The top eight in each event are All-Americans. Steininger was an All-American indoors in the high jump in 2008.
Ashley Huston of Hardin-Simmons won the event with a jump of 5-7.
