APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University standout Marva Goodson has won a Midwest Conference weekly track award for the third time this season.
Goodson was named the Track Performer of the Week after winning Field Performer of the Week twice this season. The sophomore from Saginaw, Mich., won the award after winning two events and taking second in another at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational this past Saturday.
A former star at Bridgeport High School, Goodson won the 200 meters in a school-record time of 26.49 seconds. She broke her own record of 26.93 seconds. Goodson also placed second in the 55 meters in 7.49 seconds. Goodson also won the long jump with a leap of 6 feet, 10 inches.
Goodson, who won three of the 12 weekly conference track and field awards handed out during the indoor season, led Lawrence to second in the team standings.
The Vikings return to action this weekend when they travel to the Midwest Conference Championships at Monmouth College.
