APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University's Nick Jennette has been named the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.
Jennette, a forward from Grand Rapids, Mich., played a key role in Lawrence's 6-5 win over Lake Forest College last Tuesday. It was Lawrence's first win ever against an opponent from the powerhouse Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
Jennette scored the first goal of the game and then assisted on Joe MacDonald's game-winner at 13:45 of the third period.
Jennette currently leads all MCHA freshman with 1.14 points per game. He has five goals and three assists, and his eight points are good enough for third in the league overall.
Lawrence is back in action this Friday and Saturday when it hosts Finlandia University in a MCHA series.
