APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University's Joy Manweiler has been chosen as the Midwest Conference cross country Performer of the Week for the second time this season.
The sophomore from Princeton ran to a fourth-place finish at the Beloit College Old English
Classic this past Saturday. She covered the unusual and rugged 5,000-meter course in 20 minutes, 13 seconds.
The former Princeton High School standout finished first among the
runners from the five Midwest Conference schools at the meet and her
effort helped Lawrence to third place in the team standings at the
14-team event.
Manweiler also earned Performer of the Week honors after a second-place finish at the St. Norbert College Invitational, which was Lawrence's first meet of the season.
Lawrence returns to action on Saturday when they travel to the Ripon College Invitational.
