APPLETON, Wis. -- Kim Tatro has been named the associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator at Lawrence University, Director of Athletics Robert Beeman announced.
Tatro, who also is Lawrence's head softball coach, is no stranger to the administrative workings of the Department of Athletics and Recreation. She served as Director of Athletics from 2002 until 2005.
"In my short time here I have come to count on Kim's counsel on departmental issues," Beeman said. "She is a seasoned veteran with a keen eye for detail and strategic planning. I look forward to working closely with her on the development of the Department of Athletics and Recreation, specifically in the areas of gender equity and Title IX compliance."
Tatro has been at Lawrence since 1993, when she was named the head volleyball
and head softball coach. She has compiled an impressive 211-164-1 record in
12 seasons as Lawrence's softball coach. Tatro has been named the Midwest Conference
Coach of the Year four times and her teams won three consecutive conference
championships from 1997-99. Tatro coached the volleyball team from 1993-2000
and compiled a record of 91-121.
"It is an exciting time to be a part of Lawrence University athletics," Tatro said. "I look forward to doing my part as a member of the administrative team."
Tatro is a native of Naperville, Ill., and a 1987 graduate of St. Norbert College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. She was a standout in volleyball, basketball, and softball for the Green Knights and is a member of the St. Norbert Hall of Fame.
