APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University standout football player Adrell Bullock
was named the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week following a great
performance this past Saturday.
Bullock, a sophomore halfback, ran 19 times for a career-high 173 yards in Lawrence's
35-7 nonconference victory over Macalester College in the Banta Bowl. Bullock,
a Chicago native and former star at Beaver Dam Wayland Academy, scored a pair
of touchdowns. He second touchdown came on a spectacular 59-yard run in which
he ran left, eluded several tacklers, cut back across the field, and outran
the defense to the end zone.
Bullock, who averaged 9.1 yards per carry vs. Macalester, finished the season
as the team's leading rusher. He carried 171 times for 751 yards and eight
touchdowns.
