APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's soccer standout Matt Wolin has been selected as the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Wolin, a junior goalkeeper from Highland Park, Ill., ran his shutout streak to three games with a pair of shutouts this past weekend. He made five saves in a 4-0 victory at Knox College last Saturday and then made three saves in a 1-0 win at Grinnell College on Sunday.
The former standout at Highland Park High School hasn't been scored upon for 326 minutes, 10 seconds. No one has scored on the Vikings since the first half of a 3-2 loss at the 20th-ranked University of Chicago back on Sept. 25. For the season, Wolin improved his goals against average to 1.33 and raised his save percentage to .811.
The Vikings are back in action Saturday when they travel to Ripon College for a 12:30 p.m. Midwest Conference match at Prairie Field.
