APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University tennis standout Nick Beyler has been
named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
Beyler, a senior from Madison, won a pair of matches to help Lawrence split
two dual matches. Beyler, a former standout at Madison West High School, improved
his overall singles record to 7-2 and his Midwest Conference mark to 3-0.
Playing No. 2 singles, Beyler defeated Monmouth College’s Kevin Kamenjarin
7-5, 6-0, last Friday. Lawrence went on to defeat the Fighting Scots 4-3 in
the dual match.
Beyler then picked up Lawrence’s lone victory in a 6-1 loss to Ripon College
on Saturday when he defeated the Red Hawks’ Dave Czarnecki 6-3, 7-5.
Beyler is a three-time Midwest Conference champion, having won a pair of singles
titles and another championship in doubles.
Lawrence is back in action this weekend when it travels to Iowa for matches
against Coe College, Grinnell College, and Luther College.
