APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University basketball standout Chris Braier has
been named to the D3hoops.com All-Midwest Region team.
Braier, a 6-foot-5 forward from Wauwatosa, was a second-team selection and was
chosen for the all-region team for the second consecutive season.
The former star at Wauwatosa East High School led the team in scoring at 15.0
points per game and paced the league in rebounding at 11.5 per contest. Braier,
who was the 2004 Midwest Conference Player of the Year, also led the team in
steals (1.7 spg) and blocks (0.5 bpg) and was second in assists (3.0 apg). Braier
shot a very good 51 percent (150-294) from the floor.
Braier, who had a league-high 13 double-doubles this season, was chosen for
the all-conference first-team for the third consecutive season. He led Lawrence
to its second consecutive Midwest Conference championship. He also helped Lawrence
win its second straight Midwest Conference Tournament, earning a trip to the
NCAA Division III Tournament for the second year in a row.
Lawrence finished with a 20-6 record, only the third 20-win season in school
history, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament
after winning a first-round game at Gustavus Adolphus College.
Braier, who was a first-team all-region selection last season, was named to
All-America teams by D3hoops.com and DIII News in 2004.
