APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University goaltender Andrew Isaac was chosen as
the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week after posting two
wins in a sweep of conference rival Marian College.
Isaac, a sophomore from Mississauga, Ontario, stopped 36 shots in Lawrence’s
2-0 victory over the Sabres last Friday. It was the second shutout of Isaac’s
career and just the fourth in school history. He got his first shutout in December
2003, a 1-0 win over Marian. He followed up Friday’s great performance
by stopping 41 shots in a 5-2 win over Marian on Saturday.
For the weekend, Isaac had a 1.00 goals against average and .975 save percentage.
He improved his record on the season to 6-3-1. He has a 3.16 goals against average
and is sixth in the nation with .925 save percentage.
The Vikings are back in action this weekend when they host the University of
Minnesota-Crookston on neutral ice in Wausau.
