APPLETON, Wis. -- Felice Porrata made some Lawrence University women’s
basketball history and was named the Midwest Conerence Player of the Week.
Porrata, a senior forward from Glenview, Ill., helped the Vikings to three victories
this past week and passed the 1,000-point plateau in the process.
Porrata, who played her prep basketball at New Trier High School, became just
the third player in women's basketball history to score 1,000 points. She passed
the milestone in Lawrence’s 79-56 win over Illinois College last Friday,
as she scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. She started the week with 23
points and 13 rebounds in a 57-56 win over St. Norbert College. She finished
with four points and four rebounds in a 72-45 win over Knox College in which
she played only 11 minutes.
The Vikings return to action this weekend when they travel to Grinnell College
and Lake Forest College on Friday and Saturday.
