APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University's Adam Kolb was chosen as the Midwest Conference Swimmer of the Week for his performance in the first two events of the season.
Kolb, a sophomore from St. Paul, Minn., led Lawrence to a second-place finish at the St. Norbert College Sprint Meet on Nov. 1. Kolb won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.16 seconds and took second in the 100 freestyle in 50.91.
He switched gears this past Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Triangular by taking second in the 1,000 freestyle in 10:49.51 and the 500 freestyle in 5:12.12. He also swam on Lawrence's winning 400 freestyle relay team.
The Vikings are back in action on Saturday at the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational.
