Lawrence's Getzoff, Porrata earn All-Midwest Conference honors

APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University women's basketball standouts Claire Getzoff and Felice Porrata have been named to the All-Midwest Conference first team.

Getzoff, a sophomore guard from Evanston, Ill., was a first-team selection for the second consecutive season. Getzoff, who played her prep basketball at Evanston Township High School, led the league in scoring for the second straight year at 18.1 points per game. She totaled 399 points on the season, second only in school history to the 408 she scored as a freshman. She is only 21 points away from cracking the school's top-10 in career scoring. Getzoff also broke the school's season record by connecting on 67 3-pointers.

She led the squad with 2.7 assists per game and was second with 2.4 steals and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Porrata, a junior forward Glenview, Ill., was honored by the conference for the third consecutive season, and this was her initial first-team selection.

The former player at New Trier High School averaged 14.1 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game. Porrata led the team at 2.81 steals per game and 0.77 blocks per game. She posted four double-doubles on the season and scored a career-high 27 points in an 80-64 win over Monmouth.

Lawrence finished 11-11 on the season and finished fifth in the Midwest Conference with a 7-9 record.
