Wilkin, a senior goalkeeper from Oregon, Wis., was named the conference Player of the Year and was a first-team selection for the second consecutive year. Junior defender Katey Hoyme was also named to the first team, and senior forward Alyssa Spyksma and sophomore forward Greta Raaen both earned second-team honors. Hoyme, Spyksma, and Raaen were all given all-conference honors for the first time.
Wilkin, a former standout at Oregon High School, earned all-conference honors for the third time after compiling an 8-8 record with a 1.75 goals against average and an .862 save percentage. She was even better in conference play, putting together a 1.02 GAA and .855 save percentage.
Hoyme, a native of Palos Park, Ill., and former star at Stagg High School, was the glue that kept the Lawrence defense together. She started 15 of 16 games, missing one due to injury, and had one assist on the season. What can't be measured was her impact on overall defense, which allowed opponents just 1.67 goals per game.
Spyksma, who hails from Sedro Woolley, Wash., was second on the team in scoring. The former Burlington-Edison High School standout had seven goals and two assists for 16 points. She finished her career with 20 goals, 10 assists, and 50 points.
Raaen, from Byron, Minn., was the team's leading scorer on the season. The former Byron High School standout had eight goals, six assists, and 22 points. Raaen did nearly all of her damage in conference play, picking up seven goals and five assists.
Lawrence finished the season with an 8-8 record, including a 7-2 mark in the Midwest Conference. The Vikings, who made back-to-back NCAA Division III Tournament appearances in 2000 and 2001, qualified for the four-team conference tournament for the fifth consecutive season.
