The freshman guard from Glenview, Ill., helped Lawrence to wins over Knox College and Lake Forest College, which had been unbeaten in Midwest Conference play.
For the week, Porrata averaged 16.7 points per game while shooting 55.9 percent (19 of 34) from the floor. She also averaged four rebounds and three steals per contest.
The former New Trier High School standout started the week by scoring 17 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and getting three steals in a 71-57 loss to unbeaten Carroll College. In a 61-47 win over Knox, she had 11 points, four steals and two rebounds. She then finished her week with a game-high 22 points, three rebounds, and two steals in a 59-49 win over Lake Forest.
Porrata has started all 14 games for the Vikings this season and is averaging 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest.
Lawrence improved its record to 7-7 overall, 6-2 in the conference, and is alone in third place in the league standings. The Vikings are back in action this Friday when they travel to Illinois College. Lawrence completes a weekend road trip by taking on Knox College on Saturday.
