The Program
The Lawrence department of chemistry seeks to provide an interesting and challenging environment in which its students can explore the materials that make up our world, fine-tune their critical thinking and logical problem-solving skills, and discover more about chemistry and about the relationships between chemistry and other sciences and the world at large.
A word about this website, which is undergoing some revisions. The link identified as “Chemistry Department” on navigation menu to the left will take you to the department information link on the LU web site. The rest of the links in that menu connect to department information more student- or activities-related information for current or prospective students.
The department has made some changes in its curriculum, including the introduction of a biochemistry major, and is considering others, especially at the introductory level. The link below describes some of the latter changes, and the related Plaement Exam.
