David J. Hall

Associate Professor of Chemistry

Prof. Hall joined the department in the fall of 2002. After completing his Ph.D. in the Department of Biochemistry at The University of Wisconsin, Dave spent three years as a visiting professor at his alma mater, Butler University. He then returned to Madison for post-doctoral research in the department of Biomolecular Chemistry in the UW Medical School. Dave's primary teaching responsibilities include Biochemistry (CHEM 340)and Advanced Biochemistry (CHEM 440), along with contributions to the teaching of introductory (especially CHEM 115) and organic (especially CHEM 252) courses.

Dave's current research interests focus on signal transduction pathways activated by viral infection, with particular application to the role of viruses in the exacerbation of asthma.
