Prof. Seetharaman was a member of the departmert for the 2006-2007 academic year, during which she taught Inorganic Chemistry in the Fall, the second term of our introductory course in the winter, and a portion of Organic Chemistry II in the spring. She will be with us again for the fall of 2007, teaching some labs in inorganic and general chemisry.
She earned the B.Sc. (Chemistry) at the University of Madras, Madras, India, and the M.Sc.(Chemistry) from the Indian Institute of Technology.. Her Ph.D. is from Syracuse University, where she carried out Theoretical and Experimental Studies on Intermetal Communication in Dinuclear Complexes of Ruthenium with Conjugated Bridging Ligands. She taught General Chemistry and General Chemistry for Health Sciences at Fairfield University during the 2005-2006 academic year.
Her current research interests are in the synthesis and study of transition metal complexes of the N-donor ligand Azophenine and related ligands.
