Bjorklunden
The pictures on this page were taken at recent departmental retreats at Bjorklunden, Lawrence's property on the shores of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin's Door County. The first few pictures are the groups that attended the retreats in '99, '00, '01 and '02. Those that follow are from the 2001 and 2002 versions of a "trivial pursuit"-type game using student-generated questions about chemistry. "Action questions" have become popular, and the first two pictures are groups acting out one of the vibrational modes of carbon dioxide and "meta" substitution in an aromatic ring. The other pictures are some of the teams from the past two years.
