Five Spectacular Days Each in Florence and Rome

Ciao!
Donna and I could not be more excited about our Björklunden Seminar in Italy. Five days in Florence, where we have lived for three years, and five days in Rome, where we have spent months enjoying all the ancient sites and museums and churches in the eternal city, add up to one extraordinary trip. It’s really a dream come true.
Your formal responsibilities for the seminar are simple: bask in the glories of classical antiquity and the Renaissance, and revel in the cultural extravaganza —especially the food and wine—that defines modern Italy. We’ll take you on walking tours of the historical centers in both cities, and we will be constantly available with recommendations on restaurants, museums, churches, shopping, places to hang out, and off-beat things to do on your own (want to see skeletons?). I promise not to lecture, but I will make some remarks after our group meals—at restaurants we’ve selected—and will do some dramatic readings about mediaeval miracles and the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. We’ve scheduled visits to the Uffizi and Accademia Museums in Florence and the Roman Forum and Vatican Museums in Rome and bus trips to the Tuscan countryside (think wine) and Pompeii (plus the archaeological museum in Naples), but we have also included plenty of unscheduled time. In other words, this is what the travel agents call a boutique tour.
If you would like to chat or ask questions about the trip, please feel free to call either of us at home (970-262-3800). We also have a fairly detailed but of course not set-in-stone itinerary that we would be happy to email you upon request; we’re at Varro753@aol.com. Andiamo!
Arrivederci,
