	Head Coach Kurt Kurner Email Head Coach Kurt Kirner kurt.kirner@lawrence.edu Kurt Kirner has spent more than a decade developing the Lawrence University men¹s and women¹s swimming and diving teams. Kirner, now in his 12th season at Lawrence, has molded the Vikings into consistent contenders in the Midwest Conference (MWC). The Lawrence men have won two MWC titles under Kirner, taking the crown in 1996 and 2000, and the women have finished no lower than third in the hunt for the league crown since 1993. He has coached six All-Americans, one academic All-American, and more than 85 all-conference performers at Lawrence. Kirner, the MWC Coach of the Year in 1996, came to Lawrence after an extensive and successful age-group coaching career that began in 1975. A native of Prairie du Sac, Kirner graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and coached for the Shorewood Swim Club, Schroeder Swim Team, and Marquette High School while attending UWM. Kirner continued his age-group coaching career while attending New Mexico State University and working toward his master¹s degree in kinesiology. He was in the doctoral program at the University of Minnesota before coming to Lawrence. Kirner and his wife, Susan, live in Sherwood with their two sons, Quinn and Clayton. Return to Swimming Home
