ASSESSMENT

Assessment is a critical component for maintaining the quality of the Artsbridge America program, and is essential in enlisting the help of donors and other supporters.

Scholar Self Evaluation

As part of our ongoing assessment of the Artsbridge program we require scholars to file a self-evaluation. Some of the items that the scholars must rate themselves on include: punctuality, personal appearance, rapport with students, classroom management, and organization of lesson plans. The scholar will also be asked to rate their children’s perceived growth in arts appreciation, arts skills, and personal expression.

Mentor & Director Assessment

The mentor and director evaluations are important to the success of the ArtsBridge program. Some of the evaluated areas include: use of time, clarity, pedagogy, classroom management, host teacher’s involvement, and manner and tone.

Host Teacher’s Evaluation

We appreciate all of our host teachers' participation in the ArtsBridge program. In order to improve our program and make the lessons more effective in the classroom, the teacher’s comments are crucial. We ask that all of our host teachers evaluate the scholar and the lessons that were given in their classroom.

"The way of studying communities around the world was so much more effective than our usual curriculum! I'll use many of my scholar's ideas when I teach social studies next year, especially doing more with listening to the music and thinking about what it teaches." ArtsBridge Host Teacher, 2nd Grade Teacher, Menasha, Wisconsin
