Piano Odyssey day camp is for the motivated student of the piano, looking to explore this fantastic instrument in greater depth. All classes are taught by skilled, enthusiastic, and widely-respected teachers in a setting designed to foster self-confidence, creativity, and understanding of the piano.
Daily sessions will include improvisation, music history from a piano perspective, music fundamentals, the physics of sound production, piano accompanying, and the evolution of the keyboard from Bach's clavinova to Yamaha's. Students will be age-grouped for specialized work in the electronic keyboard lab, piano masterclasses and supervised practice. Snacks and lunch included. A recital "informance" on Friday, July 18 is open to families.
