Piano Odyssey
Piano Odyssey day camp is for the motivated student of the piano, looking to explore this fantastic instrument in greater depth. All classes are taught by skilled, enthusiastic, and widely-respected teachers in a setting designed to foster self-confidence, creativity, and understanding of the piano.
Daily sessions will include improvisation, music history from a piano perspective, music fundamentals, the physics of sound production, piano accompanying, and the evolution of the keyboard from Bach's clavinova to Yamaha's. Students will be age-grouped for specialized work in the electronic keyboard lab, piano masterclasses and supervised practice. Snacks and lunch included. A recital "informance" on Friday afternoon is open to families.
Eligibility
Piano Odyssey is for students ages 8-16 who have studied piano for at least two years.
