All auditioned choirs are filled for Fall 2008. Applications for Ragazze are still being accepted. You may register online for Ragazze.
A training choir for girls in grades three through five is open to any girl who wishes to sing.
No audition required but space is limited.
Open to girls entering third or fourth grade in the fall. Note: Girls entering fourth grade who are new to the Girl Choir program should audition for Primo.
1. There will be three girls in a group.
2. Each girl will sing “Are You Sleeping” with the group and
by herself.
3. We will check for tonal memory by having each girl echo melodic patterns.
Open to girls entering fourth or fifth grade in the fall. Note: Girls entering fifth grade who are new to the Girl Choir program should audition for Allegretto.
1. There will be three girls in a group.
2. Each girl will sing, "Are you Sleeping" with the group and by
herself.
3. Each girl will sing, "Are you Sleeping" as a round with one
of the conductors.
4. We will check for tonal memory by having each girl echo melodic patterns.
Open to girls entering fifth, sixth or seventh grade in the fall. Note: Girls entering seventh grade who are new to the program should audition for Intermezzo.
1. Each girl will sing “Are You Sleeping” as a round with one
of the conductors.
2. Each girl will sing “America” (My Country ‘Tis of Thee).
3. We will check for tonal memory by having each girl echo melodic patterns.
4. Each girl will read basic rhythm patterns.
5. Current Allegretto members will sing
a piece from the concert repertoire.
Open to girls entering seventh, eighth, and ninth grade in the fall.
1. Girls not previously part of the Girl Choir program will sing “America” (My
Country ‘Tis of Thee)
2. Current Intermezzo Girl Choir members will sing a piece from the concert
repertoire.
3. All girls will take an ear-training test.
4. All girls will sing in harmony with one of the conductors.
Open to girls entering ninth-twelfth grade in the fall.
1. Girls should plan to sing a prepared solo of their choice. An example of
an acceptable solo is a song that appears on the WSMA Solo and Ensemble list.
2. All girls will sight read.
3. All girls will take an ear-training test.
