Click Insert-Picture-Clip Art. The following screen will appear:

Find the Clip Art that is appropriate for your document, and click on it.
Click Insert to place the picture in your document.

The picture will now appear in your document. You can resize the
picture by clicking on it and grabbing a handle with your mouse.
You can also move it by clicking on an edge of it until your mouse turns
into four arrows. Drag the picture to where you want it on the page.

If you want to change the size, background color, position, text wrapping,
or any other properties of the picture, right click on the picture and
click Format Picture. (You can also get to this by clicking
on the picture and clicking Format-Format Picture.)

A picture is treated by Word the same as clipart, but you
have more variety with pictures. You can download pictures from the
Internet, purchase clipart CD's, and use any number of other resources
to build a picture/clipart collection.

Click Insert-Picture-From File.

Navigate to the directory where your picture is and click on the file to
select it.

Click Open.

Once the picture is in your document, you can manipulate it in the same
ways that you can manipulate clip art.

| Auto Shapes can be used to create interest in your document.
It can also be used to explain drawings or graphs or other pictures.
The kinds of auto shapes are: lines, basic shapes, block arrows,
flowchart, stars and banners, and callouts. |

Lines:

Draw free-form objects.

Draw lines connecting items.

Draw arrows to items.
Basic Shapes:

Draw several basic shapes ranging from circles, boxes, smiley-faces, to
lightning bolts.
Block Arrows:

Select from a variety of interesting arrows to change the look and mood
of your document.
Flowchart:

Draw various flowchart boxes to create simple charts outlining procedures.
Stars and Banners:

Draw a variety of stars and/or banners to emphasize or draw attention to
important points in your document.
Callouts:

Besides the obvious, you can use these callout windows to explain certain
points of a paragraph or picture.
