Preliminary Instructions

Scanning Documents

  1. Choose Start – Programs – Scanner Computer – OmniPage Pro v. 9
  2. Choose the Auto icon (the OCR six-step wizard will start).
  3. Choose how you will get your image from the list of options.
  4. Press Next.
  5. Select the appropriate layout from the options listed for your original page’s image.
  6. Press Next.
  7. Select the main language of the document.
  8. Press Next.
  9. Select the appropriate option for retaining original’s appearance from the options listed.
  10. Press Next.
  11. Choose your proofreading preference from the options listed.
  12. Press Next.
  13. At the Export option select the “Defer Export” option.
  14. Press Finish.
  15. Click OK at the prompt for pages on scanner. Scanner will warm up and then start to scan document. Note, there may be a slight delay.
  16. If you asked to proofread the document, OmniPage Pro will guide you through that at this point. Once finished, or if you did not choose to proofread the scan, continue to step 17.
  17. When finished with the current page OmniPage Pro will ask if you want to scan additional pages, select the appropriate answer. If “no, stop scanning” is chosen, the proofreader window will open if you had selected that option during the wizard.
  18. To save the document, select File-Save. Navigate to where you want the document to be saved, name the document and click Save.
