Calling Card Use Policy
Policy Statement
Lawrence University requires all university employees to use telephone calling cards for business related long-distance calls when traveling on university business.
Procedures
- All telephone calling cards will be purchased and distributed by Information Technology Services.
- The cashier will be provided a supply of cards
so that they can provide them to travelers. These will
be 60 or 120 minute cards which should meet the needs of most people who
travel infrequently. As a guideline, those traveling for
one or two nights will receive 60-minute cards. People
traveling for three to five nights will receive 120-minute cards.
- Travelers requesting a card from the cashier
will need to provide a request form signed by their supervisor.
The forms are available from the cashier.
- Community members who regularly place
long-distance calls from off campus will be provided with higher-minute
cards. When the available minutes fall below some
threshold, the card holder should contact the Helpdesk at ext. 6570 to have
minutes added to the card. Information Technology Services will
then recharge the card via a campus purchasing card.
- Cards with unused minutes should be saved for
future trips.
