How do I get my network-e-mail password and/or my Voyager PIN?
The network account information is mailed to new students once they are admitted -- usually in early spring. It is printed on a sheet entitled "Student Computer Account Information." The Voyager PIN is sent to new students via their Lawrence e-mail account. The network/e-mail password is separate and different from the Voyager PIN. If you misplace your letter, account information can be obtained in person from the Technology Services Helpdesk, located in room 201 of the library. Or, if not on campus, you may scan and e-mail a letter of consent with you signature along with a photocopy of your drivers license or passport to helpdesk@lawrence.edu. You could also fax this information to 920-832-7693.

What is my e-mail address?
Generally, e-mail addresses follow the format of firstname.middle initial.lastname@lawrence.edu (i.e. john.j.doe@lawrence.edu) or username@lawrence.edu

How do I access my LU e-mail account?
Students can check their LU e-mail using Outlook Web Access (webmail). Webmail may be accessed via the internet on and off campus at the following address: http://webmail.lawrence.edu/. Note: A full version of the Outlook Web Access program is available when using Internet Explorer, Safari or Firefox. A "Light" version is available when using other browsers, such as Chrome.

Is wireless available on campus?
Yes, secure (encrypted) wireless access is available to students, faculty, and staff on campus. To learn more, click here.

How do I connect my computer to the Lawrence Network?
To connect to the Lawrence network you will need an ethernet card (if your computer does not already have one), an ethernet cable/s, and a current Internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. You will then need to configure your computer for the Lawrence network and register your hardware address. See Configure Your Computer for the LU Network for detailed instructions based on your computer's operating system.

If I need help connecting my computer, can I contact Technology Services?
Definitely. Technology Services will provide support to students connecting computers to the LU network. Please contact the Helpdesk at 920-832-6570; you will most likely need to bring your computer to our office in room 201 of the library.

How do I connect to campus printers on my computer?
Once you have connected to the Lawrence Network, you can then connect to printers on campus. See Configure Your Computer for the LU Network for detailed instructions on connecting to the network and adding printers, based on your computer's operating system.

If my roommate and I bring computers, can we both connect to the network?
Yes, if both you and your roommate are bringing a computer and plan to connect to the Lawrence network, one of you will need to check-out a mini hub from the Technology Services Helpdesk. A hub allows multiple computers to be connected via wired through one data port. There is no cost for checking out a mini hub as long as it is returned to Technology Services at the end of the school year. (If it is not returned, a charge of $50.00 plus a $20.00 service fee will be placed on your student account.) Note: You will need three ethernet cables to connect two computers in your room. (One cable is required from each computer to the hub and an additional cable from the hub to the data port in the wall.) Students are responsible for providing their own ethernet cables. They are available for purchase at KK's store in the Warch Campus Center as well as at major electronics stores and at most local convenience stores. Ethernet cables are sold in various lengths; determine the length of cable you purchase by the placement of computers in proximity to the hub. Check your room layout to estimate length of cable needed.

Does my residence hall have a computer lab in it?
Lawrence residence halls contain public labs with networked computers, a networked laser printer, and a telephone for reporting issues to the Helpdesk at 920-832-6570. These are 24-hour access facilities. Each registered Lawrence student has a "star key" that allows entrance to these residence hall labs. Click here for a listing of residence hall computer locations.

Note: The Sage and Colman labs are larger in order to reflect the additional number of students residing in smaller nearby buildings. Labs in residence halls are managed with cooperation from the Dean of Students Office.

How is Lawrence combating computer viruses?
Antivirus software is required on all computers connected to the Lawrence network. Technology Services provides free antivirus software which students can download from home, or - if on campus - during the network registration process. Once installed, this software will automatically update while your computer is connected to the Lawrence network.

Can I bring a phone for use in my dorm room?

How do I make an on-campus call?
From any campus phone, simply dial the extension (the last four digits of the phone number) to place a call. If you do not know the extension, dial 0 or extension 7000 to call the LU Switchboard Operator. Campus phones are available in building hallways and outside main doors. These phones are coded for on-campus numbers, local area numbers, toll free numbers, as well as for emergencies.
