The Percussion studio at Lawrence University provides an extraordinary undergraduate experience for students with an interest in orchestral, jazz, and world music study. The Lawrence University Percussion Ensemble has performed at state and national conventions to critical acclaim, and their CD release has received rave reviews in numerous publications including Fanfare magazine.
Visiting Artists
Numerous artists visit the Lawrence campus each year, including recent guests such as Michael Spiro, Jamey Haddad, Tele Lesbines, Gordon Stout, and Talking Drums. Students have the opportunity to hear these individuals in concert, to participate in master classes, and often to perform with them. The facilities in the percussion wing are extraordinary and students have access to superb equipment, including percussive instruments from cultural regions around the world.
