AUDITIONS FOR PLACEMENT IN JAZZ BIG BANDS AND JAZZ SMALL GROUPS
All auditionees must SIGN UP for a jazz audition; sign-up sheets will be posted outside Conservatory office during New Student Week and on the Jazz Room bulletin board. Indicate your wishes to perform in:

Both a large jazz ensemble/big band AND a jazz small group/combo

LARGE JAZZ ENSEMBLES (Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Band, & Jazz Workshop) meet 3:10-4:20 M&W, 4:30-5:30 Thursdays. JAZZ SMALL GROUPS/COMBOS meet twice weekly for one hour TBA. Participation in these groups is a 3-term commitment unless you are studying off campus or graduating early.
Each auditionee will be placed in one AUDITIONING GROUP. Personnel for each auditioning group will be posted on the Jazz Room bulletin board at noon on Monday, Sept. 16. Students will audition in 6 Auditioning Groups of 10-15 players. Each group will have:

2-3 sax

2 trumpet

2 trombone
-
1-2 guitar

1-2 piano

1-2 bass
-
1-2 drums
-
1 miscellaneous (vibes, violin, etc.)
35 minutes per group with all Jazz Faculty present in the Jazz Room (Shattuck 46).
