Music Theory: Music Theory and Analysis

The course will cover presentation and discussion of fundamental music theory concepts associated with harmonic practice of 18th- and 19th-century art music. Written work will include four-part composition and analysis of forms such as binary, ternary, rondo, and sonata. There will be an ear training component that will consist of melodic, harmonic and rhythmic dictation.
