This hands-on course emphasizes the
participants’ continued education with a
focused attention to their needs. It is especially
designed for the advanced Spanish language
high school teacher, but those not currently
teaching an advanced course can also benefit
from it. The participants explore different
approaches to the teaching of the target language
through the discussion and sharing of
a number of strategies designed to teach the
language skills as well as culture. The course
also addresses the incorporation of literature
and film in the language classroom with video
selections from the Lawrence University
library. The course includes a half-day workshop
on practical techniques conducted by a
high school Spanish instructor.
