Facilities for Dining

Jason Downer Commons
Jason Downer Commons is the main dining facility for Lawrence University. The Barber Room with the Teakwood Room adjacent,
is available for rental. The Teakwood Room, designed by Forest de Lockwood, with intricately carved wood panels, a gold leaf ceiling, and displays east Asian objects collected by Alice Chapman, a Milwaukee Downer graduate. The Barber Room, equipped with audio/visual equipment, is a serene, carpeted room suitable for seated dinners or buffets. Jason Downer Commons also has small private dining rooms which are suitable for small meetings without complex AV needs.
Lucinda’s Dining Room
Located in Colman Hall, Lucinda’s Dining room is a carpeted dining
room with windows on three sides, over looks the Fox River and the interior of the campus.. The space is suitable for seated dinners or buffets. A dance floor is available to rent for use in this dining room.
Coffeehouse, Memorial Union
The Coffeehouse, on the lower level of the Memorial Union over looks the river. It’s smaller, intimate space is appropriate for group meetings and its raised stage area can serve as an entertainment venue. Riverview Lounge is also in this building and is described under the “lounge, reception” heading.
