Classrooms
- Briggs Hall
Constructed in 1997, Briggs Hall is one of the newer academic buildings on campus. Open, bright, and overlooking the Fox River, the classrooms and seminar rooms are inviting and a favorite study spot of students during the school year. The rooms are equipped with TV/VCR, ceiling computer projectors, or both. The classroom capacity ranges from small seminar rooms for 20 to larger classrooms with capacities from 30-45. All rooms are air conditioned and accessible to disabled persons. - Main Hall
The oldest building on campus, Main Hall was built before Wisconsin received statehood and is rumored to have been a stop on the Underground Railroad. This rich history adds to the character of the facility. The deep armchairs in Strange Lounge are perfect for a cozy study session while the thick walls keep out the Wisconsin winter. Home to the humanities, Main Hall houses the Hiram A. Jones Latin Library as well as a language laboratory. The classroom capacity in Main Hall ranges from 15 to 50 people, and all classrooms are equipped with ceiling computer projectors. - Mudd Library
In addition to being home to the university’s outstanding collection, the Mudd Library also has available media viewing rooms, small meeting rooms, and two of the finest seminar rooms on campus: The Milwaukee Downer Room and the Lincoln Reading Room. (See Lounges/Reception Areas below.) - Science & Youngchild Halls
Home to the physical sciences, Thomas A. Steitz Hall of Science and Youngchild Hall have classrooms, seminar rooms, and lecture halls in addition to laboratory facilities. The usual capacity for the classrooms in these building is 20 people. For more information on the lecture halls, see below.
