The Chem Show, short for "Chemistry: More Than Just Equations!," is an exciting and interactive way of introducing chemistry to Appleton area school children. Produced and performed by Lawrence students, the fast-paced show utilizes slides, skits, music, and costumes to explore the numerous places in everyday life where chemistry is found. The goal is to make chemistry fun and accessible.

Created in 1995, the Chem Show entertains students of all ages. Originally designed for 7th through 9th graders, the show has been successfully performed for 1st graders, 6th graders, and high school seniors, as well as a retirees group. Last year alone, the show was performed before over 1,000 people.

Although most performances take place on the Lawrence campus, exceptions are occasionally made on an individual basis. For shows that take place on the Lawrence campus, there is no charge. For shows that take place elsewhere, a small per-person fee is charged. This fee is used to cover travel costs and supplies. The show normally runs about 50 minutes but can be made slightly longer or shorter in length.
