1. Narrowing the field

   We decided to omit from further consideration the following firms from which we have received site redesign proposals:

   1. Red Stapler
   2. Stamats Communications
   3. Newfangled Graphics
   4. Berbee Information Networks
   5. Meyocks & Priebe Advertising
   6. Visiclick Technologies, Inc.
2. How to proceed in selecting a consultant

   We agreed to conduct telephone interviews with a small number of firms using questions we developed during our meeting. Questions are:

   • Can you realistically accomplish what you propose in the time you have proposed?
   • Reflecting on the number of proposed levels represented and the kind of templates we have asked for, would you have any advice for us?
   • We're increasingly aware of our need to manage content; what's your recommendation for the best way to do so?
   • Our site includes a number of sub-sites targeting differing audiences and conveying differing kinds of information; how would you propose to develop an integrated site that addresses these varying objectives?
   • What are the intrinsic minimal elements that contribute to effective site design and integration?
3. Firms to be interviewed

   The firms we will interview, in order of approach, are listed below. We will stop interviewing firms as soon as we find one we can agree on.

   1. Netcasters
   2. Planet Propaganda
   3. Art & Logic
   4. Upstart
   5. I3

   The chair will contact the first two of these firms early in the week of November 26, with hopes that a couple of telephone interviews could be conducted at the end of that week. A preference was expressed by some in attendance for Thursday, November 29.

4. Interview preparation

   The chair charged members of the committee to develop additional questions to be used in the interviews. The secretary suggests that members email those questions to the committee so that all can be aware of the work of each.
