I'm using Netscape 4.74 and Voyager doesn't seem to behave correctly. What's wrong?
Unfortunately, not all features of Voyager are accessible from browsers other than Internet Explorer. Users of Lawrence Voyager are thus strongly encouraged to connect to Voyager via Internet Explorer.
How do I view my schedule of classes?
Choose the appropriate term from the pick list and click on the 'Submit' button.
N.B. Because changes are often made to academic records after a term closes, Voyager's display of information from past terms may not be complete or correct and should be used with caution.
Choose the appropriate class from the CRN pick list and click on the 'Submit' button.
On the block schedule, why are some classes not displayed on the day-time grid?
Sometimes classes you are scheduled to teach will not appear in their appropriate place on the day-time grid. There are two reasons for this behavior:
Why do cross-listed courses sometimes appear as schedule conflicts?
Until the course-change deadline for a term has passed, all students in cross-listed courses are registered for the parent course, and the instructor's schedule will be generated correctly. After that deadline, the registrar's office reassigns students to the CRN for which they wish to receive credit. Because all those sections meet at the same time and have the same instructor, the schedule generator detects a schedule conflict and will place all but one of the sections outside the day-time schedule grid.
Why do laboratory courses sometimes appear as schedule conflicts?
Until the course-change deadline for a term has passed, multiple CRNs will exist for laboratory courses having more then one lab section. Students register for the class based on the scheduling of the lab section. The existence of multiple sections creates an apparent schedule conflict, so some sections will be placed outside of the grid. After the course-change period has ended, the two sections are consolidated into a third; from this point forward, the apparent schedule conflict will no longer exist.

How do I export a class list or waiting list to Excel?

…click on the 'Open' button. There will be a pause of ten seconds or so.

…scroll down until you see 'Microsoft Excel for Windows' (on a Windows machine) or 'Microsoft Excel for Macintosh' (on a Mac), click once on that row, and then click the 'OK' button.
How do I view a list of my advisees?
Choose the appropriate term from the pick list and click on the 'Submit' button.
N.B. Because changes are often made to academic records after a term closes, Voyager's display of information from past terms may not be complete or correct and should be used with caution.
How do I print the advisee list?
Because of the number of columns in the advisee list, the rightmost columns will not print in portrait format. It will be necessary to change page setup on your browser to landscape format, and it may be necessary to select a smaller font size in order to print the full width of the screen on a page. Here's how to do it in Internet Explorer. (If you are using a different browser, the process will be similar but probably not identical.)
How do I see the class schedule for a student?
N.B. You may only view a student's class schedule if you are assigned as an advisor for that student in the current term.
Choose the appropriate term from the pick list and click on the 'Submit' button.

What's a "wildcard" and how do I use it?
A "wildcard" is a character with special meaning in a search. Like its namesake in cards, it can be substituted for another character. Voyager's wildcard character is the percent sign - %. If it is used in a search, it will match zero or more of any character or number.
Wildcards are useful when you are not sure of the spelling of a name or if you want to minimize typing.
Example 1: You want to find a student whose last name is either "Larson" or "Larsen," but you are not sure of the spelling. In the last-name search field, enter 'Lars%n'. The search will locate every record where the last name starts with "Lars" and ends with "n," including both "Larsen" and "Larson."
Example 2: You want to find a student whose last name is "Smith" and whose first name is either "Anne" or "Ann." In the last-name field, enter 'Smith'. In the first-name field enter 'Ann%'. The search will locate every record where the last name is "Smith" and the first name starts "Ann." Note that "Ann%" will match not only "Ann" and "Anne," but also "Annabelle," "Anna Maria," and similar patterns.
